In Uganda, ginger is grown almost in all parts of the nation. As compared to other legumes and tuber crops, ginger has higher prices. We have wide organic ginger export markets for Fresh Ginger and Powder Ginger. Most of the ginger is grown in Mpigi and Butambala districts. In Uganda we mostly have common varieties such as land race(Nganda) and the hybrid.
